Abstract
``Kirchhoff`s theory describes the bending behaviour of a sheet
of paper. In the talk I will explain how to derive Euler-Lagrange
equations under minimal regularity assumptions and I will present an
optimal regularity result for critical points of the corresponding
energy functional. I will also briefly discuss some related problems
arising in the context of thin growing tissues such as leaves.``
