In 1984, Grebogi et al. proposed a simple model system that demonstrates the existence of strange non-chaotic attractors in non-chaotic dynamical systems. While the existence of such attractors has been proven rigorously later, results about their structural properties are still rare. Based on numerical evidence, it was conjectured in 1989 that the box dimension and the information dimension disagree and take the values 2 and 1, respectively.
In joint work with Maik Gröger we confirm this conjecture and show in addition that both the Hausdorff Dimension and the pointwise dimension of the associated invariant measure take value 1 as well. Further, the employed methods yield insight about the topological structure of the attractors.
