Abstract
Let k be a field of characteristic not 2, and let GW(k) be the Grothendieck-Witt ring of k. Marc Levine recently defined a notion of Euler characteristic taking values in the ring GW(k) for any smooth projective k-variety. The aim of this talk is to discuss some examples, in particular the case of cubic surfaces.
