Abstract
Wiener’s 1/f lemma is a celebrated result that states that if a continuous non-vanishing periodic function f has a summable Fourier series then so does the function 1/f. In the past 30 years, this lemma has been extended to a variety of non-commutative settings where the role of the function f is played by a linear operator (matrix) or when f is operator-valued. We shall discuss a few of those extensions and illustrate how they can be used to obtain results about frame localization and matrix factorizations.
