In 2007, Helton and Vinnikov proved that every hyperbolic plane curve has a definite real symmetric determinantal representation. We discuss about Hermitian determinantal representations and a construction that goes back to Dixon from 1902. We adopt this construction to obtain determinantal representations of plane curves, that are invariant under the dihedral group and present some work in progress towards this.
