Michael Möller TU Dortmund Pause: Kaffee und Tee im Foyer Wissenschaftlicher Vortrag: Recent Results on Multivariate Splines Prof. Dr. Oleg Davydov University of Strathclyde, Glasgow Abstract: We present several recent results on the theory and applications of multivariate splines, including quasi-interpolation methods for scattered data fitting, adaptive finite difference discretization of the Poisson equation using radial basis functions, Bernstein-Bezier shape functions in the finite element method, and approximation orders of piecewise polynomials on anisotropic partitions.

Mit dem Kolloquium feiern wir den 77. Geburtstag von Professor em. Dr. Manfred Reimer, dessen Vita ganz im Zeichen der 11 steht: Er wurde, am 22. 11. `33 geboren `66 im Alter von 33 Jahren habilitiert und vor 11 Jahren emeritiert.
