Master Ambitious Mathematics Teaching (MAM) is based on some principles and practices. The principles include viewing children as sense-makers and knowing students as individuals and learners and providing all students with equitable access to rigorous academic work. The practices include teaching towards an instructional goal, eliciting and responding to student reasoning, orienting students to each others' ideas and to the mathematical goal, assessing students' understanding, and using mathematical representations In the MAM project we aim at a model for putting ambitious teaching into practice. The resources include articles, films and activities and might be used both for pre and in service teacher educators.
