This talk is about new so-called Bernstein-type inequalities. They are closely related to the Landau operator or “twisted Laplacian” which describes a two-dimensional Schrödinger operator with a constant magnetic field. We will explain how to prove magnetic Bernstein inequalities and how they can be used to deduce quantitative unique continuation principles for the Landau operator.
